Handweavers of the Valley, Mabel Keatly Memorial Library
Inventory List, January 2012
Handweavers of the Valley’s library was established in 1958 as a memorial to Mabel Keatly, sister of Cora Kyte who was the founder of Handweavers of the Valley. The collection is stored at Exeter Veteran’s Memorial Building, 324 N Kaweah Blvd, Exeter CA. Items in the library are added through purchases by the guild, gifts from members, and subscriptions.
The current librarians are Nancy Register and Kathleen Cone. Nancy can be reached at (661)399-6713 or njreg@aol.com, Kathleen at (661)832-6068 or kcone2@sbcglobal.net.
Items may be checked out only by current members of the guild. Only 2 items may be checked out at a time.
Checkout Procedures
(Only members of Handweavers of the Valley)
1. Select the item and leave a shelf marker to mark its place
2. Fill out the information in the checkout binder leaving the Check In box blank
Return Procedures
1. Shelf item/items yourself or place on the shelf marked Returned Items
2. Write in the checkout binder the date the item was brought back
3. If an item is lost the member will be responsible for the cost of replacing it at its current replacement value
Librarian
1. will shelf the returned items
2. check for damage at the time of shelving and do any needed repairs
3. fill requests from members
4. keep inventory up to date
5. check on status of the items checked out
